December 12, 2012 (12-12-12) will see the official start of the Disney's Magical Moments to last till mid-2013. The festival includes new entertainment offerings, as well as new campaign - Let The Memories Begin.

It’s been 6 years since the magic, dreams and imagination began. Six years of “joy and inspiration to all the world” – and we couldn’t be happier to share it with all of you. 


We hope you join us as we look back on more than half a decade of achievements, and look forward to the next 6 years!

The closing ceremony of Walt Disney Games 2012 was held. Mickey & Minnie Mouse (as always) served as hosts. The 2012 edition of the games featured 5 events; Avengers Alliance, Guardians of the Galaxy, Last Color Standing, Bounce & Pyramid Block.

As the final awarding ceremony getting closer, here is the results: 

The 4TH Place with 100 total points:   IRON MAN (Red Team)

The 3RD Place who got 225 total points:   HULK (Green Team)

 2ND Place was awarded to THOR (Yellow Team) with 250 points!

In The End, with the announcement made during the final closing ceremony, with 300 points it was announced that CAPTAIN AMERICA (Blue Team) won the Walt Disney Games 2012 Cup!

Downtown, DW -- The Walt Disney Games 2012 started with the opening ceremony.  32 participants from across the Disney World gathered in Disney 's Wide Sport Complex.  After welcoming them in the arena, they sort out in which team they will belong. (See full list of teams)

After they was sorted out, audience were treated to a short parade featuring characters from Disney Royalties, Disney Classics, Disney Villains, Disney Cartoons, Disney Pixar films who are in Downtown to compete in the Walt Disney Games. Even Mickey and Minnie were there as the event's hosts.

 
Today at Disney's Wide Sports Complex, 4 new teams will compete to become this year's champion.
Teaming up with the Marvel's Avengers, new team names were revealed; IRON MAN (red), CAPTAIN AMERICA (blue), HULK (green), and THOR (yellow).

Disney  fans will be happy to hear that they will be able to watch their favorite Disney characters compete in summer games this year. 

The Walt Disney Gamess will be held on July 15 to 21 in Downtown with the closing ceremony following on July 22. The games will be as elaborate as what was done in the past years!

Beginning today, Walt Disney is officially launching “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” — perform a day of volunteer service at a participating organization in 2012 and you’ll receive a free, one-magical day.

If you recall, we announced the “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” program on DW Today in March. Now, you can participate. It’s simple — just register, volunteer and celebrate.

-First, search for a volunteer activity and sign up. The opportunities are being coordinated by Walt Disney Imagineering, the company’s largest volunteer network. And as you’ll notice, many of the available activities offer opportunities for families to volunteer together.

– Next, you complete the volunteer activity selected.

– Finally, when the completed day of volunteer service has been verified by Walt disney Imagineering, you’ll redeem the voucher  – for a one-magical day.

And yes, it’s that simple — a free one- magical Disney day for guests who volunteer a day of service to a participating organization. We’re celebrating you and the good things you do for your communities.

Our program officially begins on April 1, 2012. When it’s live, you’ll be able to visit the official site and search for an eligible volunteer project. 

With this announcement, we’re looking for people with a passion to make a difference. And we’re working with communities to do it. They’re helping make sure you find the perfect volunteer work. And many of the program’s volunteer opportunities will be for the family.

Disney VoluntEARS are joining local volunteers in cities across the Disney World.
